Critical update for Internet Explorer

31.03.2010 - Microsoft has released an out-of-band security-update for Internet Explorer on March 30th.

Microsoft has released an out-of-band security-update for Internet Explorer on March 30th. This update patches the vulnerability of Internet Explorer Versions 6 and 7 described in the Security Advisory of March 9th (981374). The update also fixes 9 additional vulnerabilities in different versions of Internet Explorer that partially have to be considered critical as well. The cumulative update is therefore relevant to all supported versions of Internet Explorer 5, 6, 7 and 8 (on Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008 and 2008 R2).

If the "automatic update"-function of Windows is not enabled on your PC, please visit the Microsoft Update-Website and install the update manually.

Technical information for IT-professionals
IT-professionals and administrators are also advised to immediately install the update on enterprise-systems using the respective update-mechanism.
