Information: Second MELANI semi-annual report available
04.04.2006 - Targeted espionage attacks originating in China, phishing and pharming, and an extended assessment of cyberterrorism: These are the main topics of the second semi-annual report of the "Reporting and Analysis Centre for Information Assurance" (MELANI).
The report describes the most important trends and developments relating to events and occurrences in information and communication technologies (ICT), provides an overview of events in Switzerland and abroad of the last six month of 2005. For the first time the report provides a glossary which explains the most important terms in the area of information technologies.
Besides, the report analyses the topic of cyberterrorism. It shows in which areas the term really makes sense and in which it is really over-stretched.
Additionally MELANI highlights the professionalization of the hacker scene and the targeted espionage attacks originating in China against Governments and Critical Infrastructures in anglophone countries.
