S-U-P-E-R.ch – Double up on securing your access

25.05.2023 - 2-factor or multi-factor authentication (2FA or MFA) is a security mechanism that requires users to provide two or more forms of identification in order to access a system or application.

Typically, this additional layer of security is something the user knows (e.g. a password), something they have (e.g. a mobile device), and/or something that uniquely identifies them (e.g. a fingerprint or facial recognition).

Recommendations for using 2FA/MFA:

  • Use 2FA/MFA whenever possible, but at the very least for all sensitive accounts, such as email, online banking and social media.
  • Regularly check your 2FA/MFA settings and update your contact information to ensure that you can be notified of suspicious activity.
