About NCSC

The NCSC is the federal government's competence centre for cybersecurity and thus the first point of contact for businesses, public services, educational institutions and the population when it comes to cyberissues. It is responsible for the coordinated implementation of the national cyberstrategy (NCS).

With effect from 1 January 2024, Florian Schütz is the Director of the new federal office, which retains the name National Cyber Security Centre in English. He is the contact for politicians, the media and the population with regard to cyber-related issues. The NCSC's vision is to improve cyber security in Switzerland in close cooperation with all the relevant stakeholders: The NCSC lays the foundations for the secure use of digital services and infrastructures in Switzerland and enables Switzerland to become a world leader in secure digitalisation.

The NCSC supports various projects and campaigns to raise public awareness of cyber security.

Until the end of 2023, the NCSC was responsible for the Confederation’s IT security. On 1 January 2024, the Information Security Act (ISA) and its implementing ordinances came into force. The ISA established a specialised federal service for information security within the State Secretariat for Security Policy (SEPOS), which is now responsible for the Confederation’s guidelines on information security.
